" The Journey From Seeing To Feeling"

As my paintings were evolving from florals to
landscapes, I visited Claude Monet’s gardens
in Giverney, France. There, my "seeing" was
transformed into feeling. In the garden I had
the experience of enlightenment. I sensed the
essence of the nature beings, the plant
energies manifested in a heightened
awareness. I crossed over the human plane to
a tantalizing glimpse into the elemental
realm. The bridge is the symbol of
transformation, whether it is death of our
bodies, or a connection with the ethereal
nature realm. Humankind in it’s consumption
of technology has lost "sight" of the nature
world. In this new millennium there is hope,
there can be a partnership with nature as we
reawakened into a global consciousness.

The landscape paintings are inspired by the
vibrant light reflected in landscapes on Long
Island, and visions from travels through
Europe. Color, form and details are the
elements used to capture the "essence" of
place.

I am a painter of "place" call it landscape,
cityscape or seascape; they are all "escapes." I
paint places that I feel a connection with,
places where I would like to return to. When I
find myself in a "special" place I take a deep
breath and internalize the essence of what I
see and feel. In my studio I try to breath back
it’s memory with my brush
.
